Oma's Pride Recall Update Confirms Three Dog Illnesses and No Reported Human Cases from Contaminated Lot

Oma's Pride revised its recall notice to state that three dogs became ill due to a contaminated lot of frozen raw food, and that no human illnesses have been reported to date. The FDA's updated recall announcement was posted on August 17, five days after the original recall notice. The brand is made by Miller Foods, Inc., of Avon, Connecticut.

The clarification narrows the picture in a useful direction. The company said the update was issued to clarify that the reported illnesses occurred only in dogs. That resolves an ambiguity in the earlier notice, which described three illnesses without stating which species was affected.
