The UAE and Oman have signed 16 agreements and memoranda of understanding in seven sectors to boost relations between the two countries.
The new agreements were signed on the sidelines of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visit to Oman at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
The two countries affirmed their strong will to develop various aspects of bilateral relations and agreed to coordinate their approach to support and enhance security and stability.
In a joint statement issued after the visit, they praised the progress made in the political, security, scientific, economic, and cultural sectors for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
According to the statement, the two leaders held in-depth discussions, during which they emphasized boosting cooperation in various areas of common interest and praising the collaboration and coordination achieved in the interest of the two neighboring countries.
They affirmed the vital role played by the Oman-UAE Higher Joint Committee and welcomed the effective communication between leaders, officials, and ministers to discuss common issues that would enhance cooperation in the economic, commercial, investment, cultural, diplomatic, consular, and educational areas, in addition to the environment, food security, advanced technologies and industries, and innovation.
They also agreed to reach agreements on renewable energy projects, industry, health, pharmaceutical industries, real estate development, tourism, petrochemicals, manufacturing, supply chains, logistics, information technology, financial technology, and other sectors that would enhance mutual benefits and bring prosperity to the people of the two countries.
The two sides also welcomed signing several memoranda of various aspects to increase economic cooperation between the UAE and Oman.
Both leaders reaffirmed their determination to motivate the public and private sectors to develop and diversify economic ties and announced that several projects would be launched in industries, including transportation and infrastructure, to boost UAE-Oman integration.
They also discussed regional and international issues and agreed to coordinate their approach to support and enhance security and stability.
