Olympian Aly Raisman Shares Health Struggles And PTSD Challenges.

Olympian Aly Raisman recently opened up about her harrowing health struggles, revealing that she was hospitalized twice for stroke-like symptoms. The first incident occurred in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she experienced difficulty speaking and slurring her words. Raisman recounted feeling scared and disoriented, unable to even remember her own name or communicate properly.

Having previously endured sexual abuse by former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, Raisman shared that she was still grappling with PTSD during these health crises. Her second hospitalization took place last year, during which she required assistance with basic tasks like walking and using the bathroom.

The retired gymnast highlighted the stark contrast between her former athletic abilities and her current struggles with body paralysis. She emphasized the importance of ongoing therapy to manage stress, which appears to have contributed to her health issues.

Raisman expressed concerns about potential triggers at the upcoming Olympics in Paris, where she will be serving as an official hospitality ambassador. The prospect of encountering individuals who failed to protect her in the past adds a layer of complexity to her experience.

Despite her challenges, Raisman remains resilient and committed to her recovery journey. She acknowledged the need to prioritize her well-being and continue seeking support as she navigates the aftermath of her health scares.

On a personal note, Raisman also touched upon her current single status at the age of 30, reflecting on her past relationships and focusing on self-care and growth.
