Olly Murs has said he still struggles to accept that late friend Caroline Flack is gone as he reminisced about their friendship with Keith Lemon.
In February 2020, Flack, 40, was found dead at her North London home after taking her own life.
Appearing on Wednesday’s episode of Shopping with Keith Lemon, Murs opened up about his memories of the former Love Island presenter while on a car journey.
“Like me, Olly was friends with the wonderful Caroline Flack,” Lemon, real name Leigh Francis, said in a voiceover before their conversation was shown on screen.
Murs, 39, shared: “I used to watch her on Bo’ Selecta! with you. I remember seeing Caz on there, and I remember watching her on I’m A Celebrity when she did the second show.
“Caz was a fantastic presenter, and someone who was just natural on TV, wasn’t she? I still can’t accept she’s not here.”
“That’s how I deal with it. You go, I said to you, ‘Oh she’s on holiday’,” Lemon said in agreement to the singer’s sentiments.
The comedian, who knew the late star before she found fame presenting, also spoke fondly of Flack and her infectious personality.
The 50-year-old shared: “You’d go into a room and you’d hear that laugh, and you go, ‘Caroline’s here.’ And then she’d go, ‘I’ve got a new boyfriend. You’re going to really love him.’
“She was always looking for love, wasn’t she?”
To which Murs, who recently got married to long-term girlfriend Amelia Tank, added: “She was always looking for love.”
Last week, several of Flack’s close friends in showbiz came together to celebrate her life at Flackstock Festival, an event dedicated to bringing awareness to mental health issues and raising vital funds for various charities.
Alongside Murs and Lemon, other stars in attendance included Sophie Ellis Bextor, Chris O’Dowd, Jason Manford, Louise Redknapp and Natalie Pinkham.
