Singer Olly Murs has opened up about “obsessive” One Directions fans are.
The former X Factor star toured with Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik back in 2011 for the band’s Up All Night tour.
Murs was asked if he ever had anything thrown at him, and the former X Factor singer recalled having a peanut pegged at him while he was singing at an 18th birthday party.

He said: “The whole shell and it hurt. I was at this 18th birthday party at this lovely house. I rarely lose my cool or get angry on stage. But this was someone’s house. It was pitch black and I could not see. I was about four or five songs in and I see this peanut come flying towards me. It hit me straight on the forehead.
“And all I can see as I am singing is a peanut just flying towards my face and it hit me on my forehead.
“Honestly, it proper rocked me. I had to stop the song. I said, can we stop, stop, stop song. Who the hell threw the peanut,” he told Heart Bingo.
He then went on to say that when he was touring with One Direction, he remembers how “obsessive” their fans were and threw a lot of mobile phones on stage.
“I mean, when I was on the One Direction tour, we were getting all sorts of things thrown up to us on stage. I think the weirdest things I was getting thrown was like passports, lipsticks and there were quite a few mobile phones.
“They wanted you to pick up the phone, like take a photo and give it back to them. Fans were so obsessive, especially on tours with the one direction boys. The fans just wanted one of them to touch their possessions.
“But when you have got 15 phones flying towards you, it was starting to get dangerous at one point. I think they had to say to the fans could you stop throwing things on stage because someone got quite hurt by something thrown at them. I can’t remember, it might have even been me,” he added.
