Olivia Attwood has told she had 'no idea' the former Health Secretary Matt Hancock was going to appear on I'm a Celebrity until she turned her phone back on at Brisbane Airport on her way home.
Former Love Islander Attwood, 31, was thrust in to a media circus after her shock exit from the ITV jungle reality show on health grounds — and with it denying her the chance to share 'bantz' and 'spar' with MP Matt Hancock.
The reality star was left devastated when she was pulled from the prime time programme after medical checks revealed her iron levels showed she was dangerously anaemic.
She also had further red flags for low sodium and potassium levels, which prompted ITV staff to immediately take her to A&E.
Olivia was oblivious to her health predicament admitting she felt 'absolutely fine' which made the crushing blow when producers told her she could not return to camp even more hard to swallow.
She was instead flown back home, leaving her unexplained exit and speculation rife as to the reason of her departure.
She told The Mail on Sunday: ''It was unfixable, because of how my blood tested I wouldn't have been insured.
"It felt so unfair. This had been five years in the making. I just needed to get home.''
And it was only as she turned her phone on at Brisbane airport she learned how she'd also missed out on a chance to share 'bantz' with the former Health Secretary MP Matt Hancock.
Unlike many, Olivia understood Hancock's decision to handle his disgraced reputation with humour is one she herself may have done, but admits there was nothing funny about his affair which was conducted as the nation was denied seeing loved ones in lockdown.
Olivia told The Mail on Sunday: ''Despite his obvious flaws he can laugh at himself which is always a redeeming quality. That said, he should have to answer questions."
In a powerful putdown of his actions she added: "It's funny to see him slimed and gunked but it isn't funny if you didn't get to hold someone's hand when they died while he was snogging someone in his office.
" NHS workers are protesting to get paid enough money to survive and he is out earning money in the jungle. That doesn't seem right, does it?'
Since being flown back to Blighty she admits she did tune in to the show to see Matt Hancock controversially enter the jungle, along with comedian Seann Walsh.
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! airs nightly on ITV at 9pm.
