Chelsea owner Todd Boehly faces a crucial decision in appointing the right man to replace Graham Potter. The Englishman was sacked on Sunday evening following the 2-0 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa the day before.
Potter was appointed as Thomas Tuchel's replacement in September and was lauded as the man to lead Boehly's ambitious project at Stamford Bridge by signing a five-year deal.
It wasn't meant to be for the former Brighton boss, with the decision to go down a different route made after seven wins in 22 league games. The Blues are currently 11th in the table, 11 points behind the Champions League place and 12 points above the relegation zone.

Plenty of names are said to be on Boehly's radar to replace Potter. Former Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann is said to be one of the priorities on the shortlist of candidates, with Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique also under consideration.
However, it's not only the big names that are being considered. Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner and Sporting CP's Ruben Amorin have both been linked with the vacancy after impressing with their respective clubs.
Following reports that the Chelsea hierarchy want to interview at least five candidates before rushing into a decision, German publication BILD have reported that Glasner is a possibility after catching the eye in the Bundesliga.
The 47-year-old led Frankfurt to an unexpected Europa League title last season and has kept Die Adler within touching distance of making another return to the Champions League next season.
BILD have also claimed that Glasner has an exit clause in his contract that would allow him to leave the German side immediately if Chelsea decided to make a move for him.
In Amorin's case, the Sporting boss has long been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time after consistently performing in Portugal. Since becoming Sporting CP boss in 2020, he has won the Primeira Liga title, the Taca da Liga on two occasions and a Portuguese Super Cup.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Blues 'appreciated' Amorin and it's easy to see why when analysing his record in Europe. In the 151 matches he's led at Sporting CP the 38-year-old has won 103 games, losing only 28 times.
Whatever decision the Chelsea hierarchy decide to go with, there's big pressure on making the right call to return the club back to the pinnacle of domestic and European football.
