Ole Miss video board lists funny title for Peyton Manning

The Ole Miss Rebels defeated the Auburn Tigers 5-1in the College World Series on Saturday evening with former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning in attendance.

Peyton played college football at Tennessee and his younger brother, Eli, played for Ole Miss — the Volunteers and Rebels are conference rivals in the SEC, so the school highlighted Peyton’s attendance on the video board by dubbing him “Eli Manning’s brother.”

Eli joked on Twitter that he likes the new title.

Manning’s presumably working on a baseball episode for one of his ESPN Plus shows. Before attending the Ole Miss-Auburn game, Manning and current Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson were spotting getting in some batting practice with the Colorado Rockies.

Wilson was drafted by the Rockies back in 2010 and Manning played college football with Todd Helton, who went on to have a decorated career with the Rockies from 1997-2013.

It’s been a busy offseason for Manning and it might soon become even busier — the former quarterback is now a candidate to join the Broncos’ (pending) new ownership group as an adviser.
