An Oldham teenager has scooped a top wildlife photography prize - by snapping a shy mountain hare at sunset.
Ben Harrott, 17, has won the top prize in the RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2022. He beat out 4,000 other entries to claim the gong.
The judges said they chose the shot because they were impressed by Ben’s ability to capture this rare encounter with such a shy animal as well as the 'bravery of the near abstract composition'. It's Ben's second award, having been named runner up in the Portfolio category in 2021 for his series of fantastic images of red foxes.
