Old people might 'die in their homes' as cost of living crisis worsens, says foodbank manager

A foodbank manager has warned that the cost of living crisis could lead to old people being found "dead in their homes" next winter.

People in need are becoming increasingly worried about the prospect of an increase in energy bills and rising food prices, according to Emma Murray, the manager of Bristol North West Food Bank.

It has recently been announced that a rise in the energy price cap will push electricity and gas bills for a typical household up by £693 a year in April, a 54 per cent rise.
