A civic reception was held in honour of the achievements of a charity set up to support struggling residents.
Provost Douglas McAllister hosted the event at Clydebank Town Hall for Old Kilpatrick Food Parcels.
It comes after the group were recognised in parliament for their work.
Martin Docherty-Hughes MP presented a motion reading: “The services they provide include food supplies via their community pantry, toiletries, feminine products and baby wipes and Pampers, as well as community facilities including a meeting space, social space and promotional space for the local community to use.”
It went on to add that the group “offer an invaluable and outstanding contribution” to the community.
Set up during the pandemic in 2020 so they could ensure vulnerable residents got their prescriptions, Old Kilpatrick Food Parcels soon expanded to providing food packages to those in need and more recently reacted to the ongoing cost of living crisis by evolving to include a local warm hub which offered locals a space to stay warm and cosy during the colder months.
