Celtic would have to fork out just £1.6million to sign Ola Solbakken, according to a report.
The Bodo/Glimt winger has emerged as a back-up option should Jota decide against a permanent transfer to Parkhead next season.
On-loan from Benfica, Celtic have an option to buy the Portuguese star for £6million this summer.
But a report from the Daily Mail on Wednesday stated Solbakken was being considered as a contingency plan.
And now Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed he would be available for a bargain price.
However, the Italian outlet say Roma are also interested in signing Solbakken, having witnessed first hand his potential in the Europa Conference League earlier this season.
He scored twice in Bodo's famous 6-1 thumping of Jose Mourinho 's side.
Solbakken also scored against Celtic as the Norwegian champions eliminated Ange Postecoglou 's team in the knockout stage.
It now appears the Parkhead boss would face stiff competition should he decide to firm up interest in the 23-year-old.
But it's likely the club will prioritise keeping Jota, who has become a firm fans' favourite this term.
