Ola Raji: Family of shot student, 20, ‘won’t rest until his killers are caught’

The family of a student who was shot in the chest and stabbed vowed to never give up until his killers are caught as Crimestoppers issued a £20,000 reward.

Ola Raji, 20, was ambushed seven years ago on Thursday by two men as he cycled through an estate in Peckham, near the centre founded in memory of murdered schoolboy Damilola Taylor.

His sister Ruki Ware described Mr Raji as a “fun, humorous and caring young man” with his whole future ahead of him.

She added: “Our lives have been turned upside down. We miss him more and more with every day that passes.

“We continue to keep his memory alive by sharing stories and pictures of him, particularly to his nephews, who Ola never got to meet.”

Police believe Mr Raji may have been robbed on April 21, 2015. After being shot, he was stabbed a number of times as he lay on the ground.

CCTV footage shows two suspects fleeing the scene in East Surrey Grove around 10.30pm.

Three people have been arrested but no one charged.

Ms Ware said: “The pain of his loss is made so much worse because we have so many unanswered questions.

“There are local people who know what happened that night.

“We won’t be at peace until Ola’s killers are brought to justice.

“It’s time they are made accountable for their actions before another family are left broken, like ours.”
