In a recent discussion within the Oklahoma GOP, there has been a resolution proposed to censure Senator Lankford for his participation in bipartisan immigration talks. Nathan Dahm, Chairman of the Oklahoma GOP, shared his perspective on this matter during an interview. Although Dahm was not present at the meeting, he expressed an understanding of the frustration and concern among Republicans regarding border policies under the Biden administration.
Dahm clarified that the meeting was not an official action of the Oklahoma GOP, but rather an indication of the disgruntlement felt by some Republicans. However, he emphasized the importance of not condemning Senator Lankford prematurely, as the final language and details of his negotiations were yet to be disclosed. Regarding the border issue, Dahm personally believes in securing the border completely and allowing no unauthorized crossings. He even suggested that the government should be shut down if border security cannot be ensured.
