Oklahoma City Thunder guard Vit Krejci revealed some new information about his knee following the best NBA game of his short career thus far against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, as he finished with eight points in 21 minutes.
Krejci said that there are problems in his knee that will force him to undergo surgery and get a knee scope after the season but says the injury is currently not impacting him to play.
Krejci tore his ACL in September 2020 and the injury caused him to miss his entire rookie season. Krejci returned to play this season, mainly for the G League’s Oklahoma City Blue before suffering an ankle sprain in December that caused him to miss significant time.
So two years in and it’s a fair statement to say that Krejci has been dealing with the injury bug and that looks to continue into the offseason as he informed media he will need offseason surgery for his meniscus. The good news for Krejci is that he will be able to play out the remainder of this season to gain some NBA experience and show the Thunder why they should keep him in their plans for beyond this season.
