Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha telephoned on Monday Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyadh Al-Maliki to discuss the ongoing Israeli violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem.
He stressed the OIC's solidarity with the Palestinians, expressing its absolute support to their legitimate rights in Jerusalem and sovereignty in the Palestinian capital, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
He slammed Israeli practices as a flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.
For his part, Al-Maliki briefed Taha on the latest dangerous developments caused by the Israeli violations and raids by extremist settlers at Al-Aqsa.
He called for effective efforts on all political, diplomatic and legal levels to garner the widest international support to pressure Israel to cease its attacks.
