The Organization of Islamic Cooperation urged all conflicting parties in Libya on Saturday to stop violence and resort to dialogue after recent clashes that left around 23 people dead.
In a statement, the OIC said it is following up with great concern on the security developments in the Libyan capital, which led to many deaths and injuries.
The OIC Secretary General urged all Libyan parties to "stop violence, protect civilians, and avoid escalation,” in light of the dangerous developments in Tripoli.
OIC also urged all warring parties to resort to dialogue in order to resolve their differences at a critical stage Libya is going through.
It said dialogue spares the Libyan people from more violence and dangers.
Clashes between backers of Libya's rival governments killed at least 23 people and damaged six hospitals in Tripoli on Saturday, sparking fears that a political crisis could spiral into a major new armed conflict.
The health ministry in Tripoli said 23 people had been killed and 140 wounded in the fighting.
