It’s Tuesday and hardly the weekend, but the Ohio State softball team was at it with a midweek game on Tuesday, hosting — and beating — the Youngstown State Penguins by a score of 10-2 in five innings. It was the seventh win in eight games for an OSU team that seems to be finding itself at the right time.
Ohio State started off the scoring after a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first from pitcher Allison Smith. Mariah Rodriguez blasted a home run off the center field scoreboard to give the Buckeyes a 1-0 lead.

Youngstown State would answer with two runs in the top of the third inning to make it 5-2, and things would remain that way until the fifth inning when OSU would add five more runs to end the game early. Wilkison sent everyone home happy with a bomb to left field, her fourth homer in the last three games.
