Elation and heartbreak. Those are the only two emotions you can reasonably feel at the conclusion of a closely played football game like Saturday night’s Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. For fans of Georgia, it was elation as their beloved Bulldogs would once again be playing for a title. For the Ohio State fans, it was heartbreak as Noah Ruggles missed the potential game-winning field goal wide left despite the Buckeyes controlling almost the entire game.
It was an intense way to ring in the new year, and when we say new year, we mean that in the most literal sense. As Ruggles lined up for the 49-yard attempt, clocks on the East Coast counted down to the start of 2023. A kick that started in one year landed in another.
You have to see how perfectly this lined up.
