It looks like Old man Mr. Winter has struck. The weather across the Midwest has turned for the worse over a large swath, and it appears as though the Ohio State basketball game against Iowa is a casualty.
According to an announcement from Ohio State, the Buckeyes and Hawkeyes will not do battle tonight. Instead, the game has been postponed because of the inclement weather.
“The Ohio State men’s basketball game vs. Iowa scheduled for tonight in Columbus, Ohio, has been postponed due to Iowa travel cancellations and inclement weather in the Midwest,” said the statement from the university.
Central Ohio is also expecting a wintry mix today to turn over to snow with several inches forecast. In other words, things would likely have been less than ideal around the time the game is set to tip-off. Before that, the storm dumped ice and snow along its path.
There is no timetable yet for the game to be rescheduled, but as soon as we hear anything official about when the game can be put back on the docket, we’ll have it for you here.
