There was no emotional letdown for the Ohio State men’s tennis team. Fresh off of winning the ITA Indoor national championship, the Buckeyes got back in action on the road against Notre Dame on Saturday and continued rolling, shutting out the Fighting Irish by a score of 7-0 for its first road victory of the year.
The Buckeyes — as they normally do — started by taking the doubles point to get out in the lead and on the board at 1-0. Cannon Kingsley and JJ Tracy won 6-2, while Justin Boulais and Alex Benard took their match 6-4.
From there, it continued to be all scarlet and gray with OSU sweeping the singles matches. Tracy got things going with an easy 6-1, 6-1 win to go up 2-0, then Bernard and Robert Cash clinched things with 6-1, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-4. The rest of the matches were played out with the following complete results across all singles matches:
1. Cannon Kingsley (OSU) vs. Sebastian Dominko (ND) 6-4, 3-6, 6-3
2. Justin Boulais (OSU) vs. Nil Giraldez (ND) 6-2, 4-6, 6-0
3. JJ Tracy (OSU) vs. Jameson Corsillo (ND) 6-1, 6-1
4. Jack Anthrop (OSU) vs. Chase Thompson (ND) 6-3, 6-7(4), 10-5
5. Robert Cash (OSU) vs. Jean-Marc Malkowski (ND) 6-2, 6-4
6. Alexander Bernard (OSU) vs. Kyran Magimay (ND) 6-1, 6-4
