Ohio State football recruiting recap: Highlights, crystal balls, visits and offers

It was a big recruiting weekend for Ohio State Football, as they hosted a large contingent of prospects for it’s matchup against Penn State.

The Buckeyes won a highly contested battle, one that showed the type of environment they could be participating in their future. It wasn’t just in Columbus where Ohio State recruits has a good time, it was on the field as well.

Check out our latest Buckeye recruiting recap as we take a look at which prospects enjoyed their visits, scored surprising touchdowns, got projected to end up at Ohio State, and who got offered during this past weekend.

Let’s start off with some prospects who took the trip to Columbus.

2025 Texas cornerback Devin Sanchez

The elite cornerback loved his trip to Columbus and it looks like the Buckeyes are a top contender for his services. The No. 7 overall prospect has not crystal ball selections, but that could change soon.

2026 Georgia athlete Aaron Gregory

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 170-pound Gregory has 30 offers and is ranked as the No. 16 overall player in the country, and the top athlete which makes him a 5-star.

2025 Florida linebacker Elijah Melendez

Fresh off his visit to Ohio State, Melendez puts the Buckeyes into his top 10 schools. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 223-pound ‘backer is ranked as the No. 181 overall prospect and No. 21 player at his position in the 2025 recruiting class.

2026 Ohio athlete Elbert Hill

First off, you don’t wear blue in The Shoe. Second, the young cornerback is not ranked at the moment, but does hold a Buckeye offer.

2025 Texas wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon

Bio

Hailing from the same high school as 2024 linebacker commit Payton Pierce, McCutcheon could join his teammate in Columbus. He’s ranked as the No. 18 receiver and 105th overall prospect.

2025 Cornerback commit Blake Woodby

Bio

Fresh off his commitment to the Buckeyes, Woodby visited his future home this weekend. He’s ranked as the No. 12 corner and 86th overall prospect in his class.

2025 Indiana athlete Brock Schott

Info

Schott does not have an Ohio State offer, but it’s clear they are interested. He is ranked as the No. 9 tight end and 196th overall prospect in the 2025 cycle.

2026 Ohio offensive lineman Maxwell Riley

Info

The massive in-state tackle holds a Buckeye offer and was bonding with potential future teammates. Riley is ranked as the No. 4 tackle and 14th overall prospect in 2026.

2027 Ohio quarterback Emmett Queen

Info

Queen is not ranked but knows all about Ohio State as his father, Heath played for the Buckeyes in the late 90’s. He’s considered one of the top quarterback prospects in his class.

2026 Florida offensive lineman Micah Smith

With a Buckeye offer in hand, Smith took a visit to campus this weekend. He’s rated as the No. 11 tackle and 70th overall prospect in his class.

2025 Ohio linebacker Eli Lee

Lee is currently unranked, but has a Buckeye offer. 247Sports director of recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, logged a crystal ball selection for Lee to pick Ohio State over the weekend.

2024 Running back commit Jordan Lyle

The Buckeye running back commit has had a big senior season. He’s ranked as the No. 13 back and 146th overall prospect.

2024 Offensive line commit Deontae Armstrong

Armstrong was paving the way for his offense before heading to Columbus to enjoy the atmosphere on Saturday. He’s ranked as the No. 33 tackle and 418th overall player in his class.

2024 Defensive tackle commit Justin Scott

Although Scott won’t be playing offense for the Buckeyes, he’s showing his elite athleticism for his size at 6-foot, 4-inches and 310-pounds.

Not one, but two scores for the No. 3 defensive lineman and 12th overall prospect in the 2024 class.

2025 Offensive tackle Carter Lowe

The in-state tackle, who the Buckeyes offered back in January, visited this weekend. Wiltfong thought it was positive enough to log a crystal ball pick for him to end up with Ohio State. He’s ranked as the No. 13 offensive tackle and 151st overall prospect in the 2025 class.
