It is still very early for the 2026 cycle, but you have to get excited when the nation’s top offensive tackle prospect is still considering Ohio State football.
Missouri’s Jackson Cantwell, a 6-foot, 8-inch, 300-pound tackle, trimmed his list down to fourteen schools on Thursday afternoon. It’s an impressive list of teams that include Georgia, USC, Oregon, and Michigan that are trying to lure him to play for them.
Cantwell is a 5-star prospect and the country’s No. 3 overall recruit according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is surely a priority recruit for the Buckeyes, but you have to expect that it’s the same for many of the remaining colleges that are on his list.

Ohio State wasn’t the first major school to offer him, but it was still on the early side. Hopefully the longer relationship with the Buckeyes staff wins out in the end for Cantwell.
