We are now a month removed from the improbable and exhilarating win out in Pasadena over the Utah Utes in the Rose Bowl, and things are in full offseason mode now. National signing day will be here on Wednesday, and then it’s off and running for winter conditioning and all that comes with getting a team through the offseason ready to compete for really big things again in 2022.
The nice thing about the way the OSU folks run things at the Woody is that it’s not a vacuum of silence during the offseason. We — on occasion — get to hear from some of the coaches and players in-between the bowl game, the upcoming spring game, and then through until the season gets cranked up again for fall camp.
One of those instances was provided on Monday when head coach Ryan Day and the new assistant coaches were made available to the media. Day provided updates and fielded a lot of questions from those in attendance, and we’re bringing it all here to you in case you missed any of the remarks.
Thanks to the magic of the internet and the Ohio State Facebook account, you can hear Day discuss some of the personnel, talk about new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and what he expects, the upcoming national signing day, and more.
We’ll have more coverage of some of these offseason updates as they are made available, and if any shocking and unexpected news develops during the traditional national signing day, we’ll have that too.
