The Ohio State football recruiting class of 2023 is complete and despite some murmurs of negativity in the crowd, this class is fantastic from top to bottom. One of the studs of this class is a four-star recruit, defensive lineman from Georgia in Kayden McDonald.
McDonald is regarded as a top 260 recruit in the country and a top 35 defensive lineman in this class and will be looking to make an impact as quickly as possible for the Buckeyes.

Breaking It All Down
The first thing that stands out about McDonald is his Big Ten-ready size at 6’3″ and over 300 pounds with the frame to add even more healthy size. McDonald is extremely athletic given his massive size and this should allow him to be moved across the entire defensive line.
#32, meet Kayden McDonald😤

Breaking It All Down
Kayden McDonald can make a large impact, but there are some inconsistencies with his game. McDonald has the skills to dominate every snap and he simply did not in high school.
“Kayden McDonald into the back field” on repeat 💢👊🏽🐶 #GoNorth #RoadToState pic.twitter.com/ndNlCTsxox

Comparison: Rodney Bailey
Breaking It All Down
Rodney Bailey is one of the most underrated Ohio State players in history. The former High School All-American immediately made an impact for Ohio State and started as a freshman and recorded 34 career starts as well as All-Big Ten honors. Bailey was drafted in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL Draft and was in the NFL for seven seasons.
Rodney Bailey is a great comparison for Kayden McDonald, because, like Bailey, McDonald has the opportunity to see the field early and often and play his entire career at a very solid level.
