A routine day at a construction site in Barberton, Ohio, turned into an unexpected animal rescue when workers discovered a tiny kitten trapped inside an excavator. The crew at River Reach Construction heard persistent meowing coming from a Komatsu machine and soon realised that the cries were coming from somewhere inside the heavy equipment. Supervisor Chase Guello investigated and helped free the kitten after removing the excavator’s skid plate. The tiny rescue was later named Sue and quickly became part of the construction crew’s story. What makes the tale even more adorable is what happened next. Sue was given a tiny high-visibility vest and a miniature hard hat, transforming the rescued kitten into the construction company’s unofficial mascot.
