Officiating team confirmed for Rangers' upcoming trip to Aberdeen

Matthew MacDermid will referee Rangers’ William Hill Premiership trip to Aberdeen on August 30.

Derek McInnes will visit Pittodrie for the fourth weekend of the 2026/27 league campaign, with kick-off set for 12pm.

MacDermid refereed five Rangers matches during the 2025/26 season. His latest Ibrox appointment came in May, when Hibernian won 2-1, and he also officiated Rangers’ 4-1 victory over Aberdeen in March.

He handled three other Rangers league fixtures last term: a goalless draw away to Hibernian, a 3-0 win at Dundee and a 1-1 draw at Falkirk.

David McGeachie and Jonathan Bell will assist him, with Sean Murdoch as fourth official. Andrew Dallas will operate VAR, with Grant Irvine as assistant VAR at Clydesdale House

The match will kick off at Pittodrie at 12pm on Sunday afternoon, with the game being shown live on Sky Sports.
