John Lewis Partnership has appointed Savills to bring its former department store at 88 George Street in Aberdeen to the market.
Totalling approximately 200,000 sq ft over four floors, the store dates back to 1966, but was one of several that did not reopen following last year's lockdown.
Stuart Moncur, head of national retail at Savills, comments: “88 George Street is a substantial and highly prominent building that offers a wealth of potential - its scale and significant profile could be considered suitable for a range of alternative uses, subject to the usual planning consents.”
NHS Grampian currently has a License To Occupy the building, which will continue to operate as a vaccination centre throughout the sale process.
In March last year, John Lewis confirmed plans to not reopen eight of its stores following the lockdown at the time.
The partnership has said the move will "rebalance" its store estate "to reflect how customers want to shop".
Its remaining 34 stores reopened in the spring - including those in Edinburgh in Glasgow - but the third Scottish site in Aberdeen was one of those set to close.
