Of course Donald Trump is making Rob Reiner’s death about him

United States President Donald Trump insensitively addressed Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer’s death in California this weekend. Trump took the tragedy as an opportunity to poke at Reiner’s political leanings and staunch criticism of the current regime in the White House.

On Truth Social, the commander-in-chief saw fit to say that the director had “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” In addition, Trump would also puff up his own achievements in this current term by arguing that the administration had achieved all of his goals. For the newsworthiness, or whatever you would classify it as, here’s what the president had to say about Reiner.

“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood,” Trump began. “Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

POTUS continued, “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

Interestingly, even the President’s supporters were mildly appalled by this strange post. Numerous respondents under the screed posted on Truth Social said that these kinds of petty comments were beneath the office of the President.

This is just the latest instance of a divide between supporters of the Trump administration and the followers who helped propel him to the White House for the second time. Economically, the United States is in the midst of a bit of a slow period. Evidence is all around, despite the lack of jobs numbers due to Trump’s own hampering of economic reports this year.

Just a few weeks ago Walmart CFO John David Ramsey said that the retail giant may have to raise prices if these increased tariffs take root in the United States. in conversation with CNBC, Ramsey said. We never want to raise prices. Our model is everyday low prices. But, there probably will be cases where prices will go up for consumers.”

On a drastically different side of the aisle, present President Barack Obama also reacted to Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner’s tragic passing. In true Obamacore fashion, the politician opted to reflect on the ways that art brings us together. Something, That Reiner had essentially mastered over the course of his long career in Hollywood.

“Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen,” Obama tweeted on social media. “But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people — and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action.”

“Together, he and his wife lived lives defined by purpose,’ he adds. “They will be remembered for the values they championed and the countless people they inspired.” Our thoughts are with the Reiner family at this time.
