BHUBANESWAR: In November 2008, Ankan Dhal wondered to himself that 26.2 miles (42.2 km) is a long distance to drive but even a crazier to run!
His close high school friend, Andra Neacsu, had just wished to run the New York marathon after returning from Big Apple where she had been during the marathon weekend.
Fifteen years down the line on November 5, 2024, Ankan ran the distance in memory of his high school friend Andra, who died of cancer two months later in January 2009, when both were doing their high school in Westford Academy.
