Free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is reportedly holding a workout Friday in front of NFL teams in Arizona, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
After tearing his ACL during Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams, Beckham Jr. missed the entire 2022 season as he worked his way back. There was some buzz late in the season that he may come back but it never came to fruition.
Beckham Jr., 30, has been an extremely productive receiver throughout his career but has been dealing with injuries in the latter part of it. He suffered a fractured ankle in 2017, a torn ACL in 2020 and the most recent torn ACL at the end of 2021.
From the perspective of the Colts, we shouldn’t expect these two to be a match. Bringin in Beckham Jr. would be a nice addition for a rookie quarterback, but it’s likely that the price and his desire to play for a solidified contender would trump any interest the Colts may have.
However, the Colts have a need at the wide receiver position with Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin set to hit the market next week, assuming they don’t re-sign with the team.
We’ll see if the Colts have any scouts at the workout Friday, but it will be something to monitor with free agency coming up.
