Odell Beckham Jr mocks New York Giants for trading Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl hero

Kadarius Toney became an unlikely hero for the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, and Odell Beckham Jr has mocked the New York Giants for letting him go in October.

It was very much the Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts show on Sunday as expected, as both quarterbacks starred in a stunning 38-35 Chiefs win at State Farm Stadium. But Toney flipped the game on its head in the fourth quarter, and his commitment essentially handed the Chiefs the victory.

The Philadelphia Eagles were leading for the entire game until Toney scored in the fourth quarter, and he then made the largest punt return in Super Bowl history - which was quickly followed by another touchdown from Skyy Moore to give the Chiefs a healthy lead. The Giants traded Toney to the Chiefs earlier this season, and former star Beckham Jr couldn't help but comment on it.

Toney was selected by the Giants in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft, but it never really worked out for the young wide receiver in New York. Toney never scored a touchdown at the Giants, and was traded to the Chiefs in October for a third and a sixth round pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

It seemed like fair business at the time, but it's a move that's helped the Chiefs claim another Super Bowl title. Beckham Jr is never shy to comment on situations, and couldn't resist tweeting after Toney produced two game-changing plays on Sunday.

"And they traded him… I just feel like life is ALL about situations," Beckham Jr tweeted after Toney became the Chiefs hero. And after the game, Toney even responded to his tweet with laughing emojis.

Toney is now a Super Bowl winner, and has a touchdown in the biggest game of them all to cherish. He also proudly holds the longest punt return in Super Bowl history, and it helped him earn a winners ring at the age of 24.

The young receiver only touched the ball three times during the whole game, and was only on the field for a total of eight snaps. However, he managed to make his moments count, and was ecstatic after the final whistle.

"It is the biggest game of my life," Toney said. "It was, for real." Until the fourth quarter Toney had only touched the ball once for a punt return, but Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy decided it was time to get him more involved.

"We saw something a little bit different on tape and we knew that we could take advantage of what they weren't doing," Bieniemy said. "And Kadarius just did a hell of a job of finding a way to get himself open."

The play worked so well that they copied it again with Moore, and once again they had the ball in the endzone. The Chiefs were terrific in the second half with their play calling, and have the Super Bowl trophy in their hands as a result.
