Bookmakers have slashed the odds for Leeds to see snow on Christmas day this year.
Leeds is now 4/7 for a white Christmas, slashed from 9/2 just over two weeks ago. A white Christmas is an incredible feat which has become rather rare in recent times, and very few cities in Yorkshire have seen one recently.
The UK experiences a white Christmas on average once every six years and enjoys snowfall once every 3.9 days in December. That’s effectively a flurry every week, which theoretically means there is a one-in-seven chance that snow falls on Christmas day itself.
