Stocks rose on Friday, breaking a four-day losing streak even as bets of a rate hike by the Federal Reserve jumped after core inflation rose more than expected in July.

The S&P 500 gained 0.86%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average did so 0.98%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 0.96%.
