Bookies have cut the odds on Penny Mordaunt replacing Rishi Sunak as leader of the Conservatives after her permoance at the Coronation. Ladbrokes Coral has slashed odds on Ms Mordaunt to become the next Tory leader from 8/1 to 7/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told Express.co.uk: "Penny Mordaunt stole the show on the political front and it's done no harm to her chances of replacing Rishi, if the latest odds are anything to go by."
Ms Mordaunt has been praised for her conduct during the King’s coronation ceremony, where she held ceremonial swords for more than an hour.
