A robotics company has decided to get rid of its obsolete older humanoid robots by ordering them to leap into a vat of molten steel. The eyebrow-raising decision was made by Figure AI, which was faced with the problem of needing to dispose of its now-obsolete F.02 models.
They could have dismantled them, recycled the parts, or perhaps even donated them to universities or schools for educational purposes. But, apparently, it was decided that they should be made to swan-dive to the destruction in liquid metal, Terminator 2 style.
