NEW YORK: India on Saturday responded strongly to Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif's statement on the Kashmir issue at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). "A country that claims to seek peace with its neighbours would never sponsor cross-border terrorism. It would also not shelter planners of the horrific Mumbai terrorist attack, disclosing their existence only under pressure from the global community," the Indian diplomat at UN said.
India exercised the 'right of reply' at the 77th session of the UNGA debate to respond sharply to Sharif, who had raked up the issue of Jammu & Kashmir during his address.
"It is regrettable that the prime minister of Pakistan has chosen the platform of this august assembly to make false accusations against India," Mijito Vinito, first secretary in the permanent mission of India to the UN, said in the right of reply.
