Obesity warning as study finds 42m people in UK will be overweight by 2040

More than 42 million adults will be overweight by 2040 - with a staggering 21 million of those being obese, according to new data.

Analysis carried out by Cancer Research UK shows that seven in 10 people will be overweight or obese by 2040. Of this, almost four in 10 adults (21 million) will be obese.

Right now 64% of adults are overweight or obese, with figures continuing to rise year on year.
