Oasis reformed last year for Live ‘25, a global tour that brought huge excitement and critical acclaim, while also generating a purported £1 billion for the UK economy. And it turns out they also brought guitar music back to the charts.
According to new figures from the British Phonographic Institute (BPI), the UK music industry had a record-breaking year with album sales and streams rising 5 per cent to 201 million. Oasis’ best of album Time Flies... was the fourth biggest album of the year and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory was the seventh.
