OAP seriously injured on Scots farm dies in hospital as health and safety probe launched

A man has tragically died after being injured on a farm in Dumfries and Galloway.

The 71-year-old was rushed to hospital by ambulance from Barnbarroch Farm, near Dalbeattie, but sadly passed away as a result of his injuries.

Police Scotland confirmed they were notified about the man’s death at the Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary on Monday, June 20.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal however his death is not being treated as suspicious.

The Health and Safety Executive confirmed they were aware of the tragedy and would be making enquiries into the circumstances.

Barnbarroch is the home of the successful family business Roan's Dairy.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “On Monday, 20 June 2022, we were made aware of the death of a 71-year-old man in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
