In the main bout, which will take place inside the Poliforum Benito Juarez in Cancun, Mexico, reigning WBC World super featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster will defend his championship against Eduardo Hernandez.

O’Shaquie Foster 30, an American boxer from Orange, Texas, U.S. Foster(20-2, 11 KOs) won the championship over Rey Vargas by a unanimous decision, and this will be his first official defense of the world title.

25 year old Eduardo Hernandez (34-1, 31 KO wins) is from Mexico City,  Mexico and is a formidable opponent who is coming off a fantastic run of six straight knockout victories. Hernandez will be eager to fight for a world title on the home soil.

“I know this fight is going to show my offense and defense, my full arsenal,” said Foster in media reports.

“I’m looking forward to steadily building my fan base and showing the world the different talents that I got,” added Foster.

“They’ve only seen 60 percent of what I can do in the ring. I’m looking forward to showing the world a lot more of what I can do in this fight,” he said. “I’m definitely surprised that Rocky came around to this fight.”

“His name came across a couple of years ago. We were both signed to Probellum at the same time. We asked them about making that fight before I won the title. He’s the mandatory, so I guess it was either take this fight or give up that spot. But he took the fight, so it’s cool. I’m surprised, but I’m glad we’re here,” said Foster.

Foster’s victory over Vargas previously has demonstrated his ability to box deftly and overcome an ungainly technique. Hopefully, this weekend will clear up any remaining doubts over his chin.

Hernandez has won his last fights via knockout, and in his more than nine years as a professional, he has never advanced past the sixth round.

Hernandez will be at a disadvantage due to his height and reach after a six-fight winning streak but, he hopes to go against the odds and add another victory to his record of 31 via knockout.
