The New York Times and The Washington Post learned that the U.S. was set to conduct a raid to capture authoritarian President Nicolas Maduro hours before it was set to take place but held off publishing to not endanger troops, according to a new report.
Semafor, which first reported on the story, noted that the practice kept longstanding journalistic traditions in the U.S. despite President Donald Trump's continued hostility against the outlets and legacy media in general.
