A police officer on horseback chased an alleged purse thief through the streets of Manhattan, a video shared by the New York City Police Department (NYPD) on Thursday (16 April) shows.
The chase continued along the sidewalks and through the streets as the officer shouted, “Stop running.”
The man was finally apprehended with the help of a witness, and the purse was recovered, police said.
“I'm putting cuffs on you. You're being detained,” the officer said as he apprehended the suspect.
