According to the NYPD, the suspect approached the victim in the vicinity of East 152 Street and 3rd Avenue in the 40th Precinct. The man allegedly placed a belt around the woman's neck, causing her to lose consciousness. He then proceeded to drag her between two parked cars where the sexual assault took place.
The department's Special Victims Unit is currently investigating the case, but as of Friday morning, no arrests have been made. A video of the incident, which surfaced online, shows the masked suspect sneak up behind the victim, choke her with a looped belt, and drag her to the ground.
