NY Sugar Rebounds as Brazil's Sugar Output Slows

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH25) today is up +0.10 (+0.52%), and March London ICE white sugar #5 (SWH25) is down -11.10 (-2.14%).

Sugar prices today are mixed.  NY sugar is moderately higher as short covering emerged when Unica reported that cumulative 2024/25 Center-South sugar output through mid-December is down -5.1% y/y to 39.711 MMT.  Unica said only 129 sugar mills were operating in Brazil in the first half of December compared with 185 mills in the same period last year.
