Manhattan's fall movie calendar belongs to the New York Latino Film Festival once again this year, as the country's longest-running showcase for Latino cinema marks 26 years with what organizers describe as its largest slate yet: upward of 125 titles pulled from nearly 20 countries. Calixto Chinchilla started the event in 1999, and it has since grown from a scrappy neighborhood showcase into what the festival's official site now calls "the premier Urban Latino film event in the country."
