Newly unsealed court documents show that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has concluded its case against Ovidio Guzmán López, one of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán's sons who is currently facing prosecution in the United States. The case has now been transferred to a federal court in Chicago, where "El Ratón" is expected to plead guilty next month to five charges, including drug trafficking and money laundering.

"I, Ovidio Guzmán López, the defendant, have been informed that an indictment is pending against me in the above-mentioned case. I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged against me to allow for the disposition of the case in the Northern District of Illinois, where I am currently detained, and I waive a trial in the previously mentioned district," reads the document signed June 30 by El Ratón, as reported by Milenio.
