A city club is promising 'the ultimate World Cup party' as it adds new VIP packages to its pop-up fan zone where it is screening England matches in the company of a sport presenter and some football legends.
NX Newcastle - which opened in September in Westgate Road after a £2.75m revamp of the former city home of 02 Academy - is showing the England matches on what it claims is the biggest indoor screen in Newcastle and now it is hoping to score with fans even more by adding new VIP packages to enhance the viewing experience. In the build-up to the team's next game on Friday, it is now selling upmarket ticket options including premium views, drinks and all-night host service.
The club's screenings are being hosted by Sky Sports presenter Keith Downie who will be sharing some match analysis and banter and there will be special guest appearances from football stars such as former Newcastle United and England players turned sports presenters Steve Howey and John Beresford as well as Lee Clark, who played for Newcastle United, Sunderland and England and is now a manager. Adding to the party vibe will be live music and DJs.
