NX Newcastle club adds VIP experiences to World Cup Fan Zone

A city club is promising 'the ultimate World Cup party' as it adds new VIP packages to its pop-up fan zone where it is screening England matches in the company of a sport presenter and some football legends.

NX Newcastle - which opened in September in Westgate Road after a £2.75m revamp of the former city home of 02 Academy - is showing the England matches on what it claims is the biggest indoor screen in Newcastle and now it is hoping to score with fans even more by adding new VIP packages to enhance the viewing experience. In the build-up to the team's next game on Friday, it is now selling upmarket ticket options including premium views, drinks and all-night host service.

The club's screenings are being hosted by Sky Sports presenter Keith Downie who will be sharing some match analysis and banter and there will be special guest appearances from football stars such as former Newcastle United and England players turned sports presenters Steve Howey and John Beresford as well as Lee Clark, who played for Newcastle United, Sunderland and England and is now a manager. Adding to the party vibe will be live music and DJs.

The music venue will be creating an immersive atmosphere with the help of bands such as Newcastle Britpop party-starters The National Anthems who will be whipping up the atmosphere with the hits of Oasis, Blur, Stone Roses, Pulp and The Verve.

A spokesman said NX is s offering football fans "the ultimate World Cup party, giving supporters the chance to come together under one roof to experience England’s matches on the biggest indoor screen in the city." And that will continue as long as England remains in the tournament.

The confirmed group stage game showings are England vs USA this November 25 and England vs Wales on November 29. In each case doors will open at 5pm for kick off at 7pm. There are two VIP packages now on sale.

A Platinum Package which includes an exclusive seating area - nearer the main stage and with the best view - for up to eight fans; two bottles of premium spirits, unlimited draught mixer, two buckets of beers (12 cans of Stella or Budweiser per bucket) and a hostess service costs £400 per group.

A Gold Package, with premium seating for up to eight fans; one bottle of a premium spirit, unlimited draft mixer, a bucket of beer (12 Cans of Stella or Budweiser) and the hostess service is £250. Those wanting to inquire about a VIP package asked to email Deeann@nxnewcastle.com

Standard admission tickets for the fan zone cost from £10, plus booking fee. To book those see the club site here or Gigantic here. Football fever is building across the city and Newcastle's other World Cup fan zone at Times Square saw scenes of jubilation on Monday afternoon when the England team beat Iran 6-2 in its opening game.
