
SEATTLE - The 11th National Women's Soccer League is set to kick off this weekend with Portland visiting Kansas City. The 2024 season will mark the debut for newly-added franchises Bay FC and Utah Royals, taking the total of participating teams to 14.
Reigning champions NJ/NY Gotham FC will play the opener against last season's Shield winner San Diego Wave FC. Only North Carolina Courage (2018-19) was able to won back-to-back NWSL titles in the history of the league.
