- Many of the missing Britons were undertaking religious pilgrimages to sacred Hindu sites such as Mount Kailash, becoming trapped near the Nepal-China border in the Rasuwa district when flooding struck.
- Among those reported missing is Sarada Simkhada, who is a hospital nurse from Dartford, the Sahus, who are family of four from Surrey, and several tour groups and couples from Coventry, Essex, Sussex and London.
- Distressed UK relatives have launched fundraising appeals to provide basic necessities for victims, while community leaders from the Non-Resident Nepali Association UK meet with the Foreign Office for support.
